Esther M. Zimmer Lederberg
Marin Headlands

Fort Cronkheit at the Marin Headlands provided a naturally beautiful setting for recorder workshops lead by such musicians as Judith Linsenberg. Esther Lederberg attended such workshops. The barracks at Fort Cronkheit are sparce, and only support hostels, along with a cafeteria. Near by there is the Marine Mammal Center. The Marine Mammal Center is staffed primarily by volunteers. The purpose of the Marine Mammal Center is to take care of sealife such as Seals, Sea Lions, Whales, Dolphins, etc. that need human assistance due to harm caused by humans (entangelment in nets, abandonment of pups due to human disturbance, harm caused by humans by guns, arrows, fish hooks, etc).
